Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies. Documents system requirements, defines scope and objectives, and creates system specifications that drive system development and implementation. This role functions as the liaison between IT and users, and requires both business and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create systems solutions that support business strategies;
  • Documents system requirements, defines scope and objectives, and creates system specifications that drive system development and implementation;
  • Works with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements;
  • Produces high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience;
  • Contributes to and maintains the information architecture;
  • Participates in scrum ceremonies and actively contributes to SDLC;
  • Researches information using available internal and external resources;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience as part of a Software Engineering team or as Technical Writer
  • Ability to read and understand source code written in Python and/or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with the SDLC and software development
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Excellent research skills - the ability to research technology, customer needs and industry trends
  • Work well within a team environment and under pressure
  • Possess high attention to detail
  • Process driver with a “Get it done” attitude
  • Proper phone and email etiquette
  • Effective listening and customer service skills

Employee works in a typical office environment and is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical office equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some travel to job sites and/or offices may be required. Must be able to travel and work an extended schedule as needed.
